To start with some of the daily exercises with your baby, colours are very important. Below you can find the list of items which I used to develop my little one with interactive games.
Lamaze gym:
This Lamaze gym mat is the best purchase I made for my new born. It is not only great for their developmental activities, but it is also great for calming your little one. Every time when my baby was crying and I could not understand why I would lay him down in the play mat and he would immediately stop due to the colours and interactive gadgets that this set contains. The beauty about this gym/play mat is that it has toys which your baby can grab. This is very important for them, since they would try to grab everything that they possibly can.
Grip Ball:
In addition to the toys I have also hanged the ball which is amazing for developing their grab/release motion (please see the ball below).
We use the ball for my baby to catch and release which are both important activities for a newborn.
Tummy time:
It is also very important from a very early days to incorporate tummy time with your newborn. This activity is great for developing their neck and spine and it is important to do it daily. To start with, you can do it gently by using the Lamaze pillow which comes with the gym set, but then over time you should lay your baby flat on their tummy to do tummy time.
I would not recommend to do tummy time straight after feeding, but rather wait until your baby has digested the food and the incorporate few minutes of tummy time few times a day.
Lamaza Octopus: Moving their head from left to right
This toy ( which you can find below) was the best toy for me to encourage my little one to move their head from left to right. This toy is not only colourful but it also has a sound which your baby can follow. Your baby will very quickly start to follow the toy is your start moving from left to right.
Bicycle time:
Bicycle your baby's legs is a natural method for pushing air out of their system, which will help your baby to relive the gas, but this is also a good way to work the legs, hips, knees, and abs. This move helps increase flexibility as well as range of motion.
